‘Co-operatives Fortnight’ runs from 21st June this year and will once again celebrate the vibrant and strong co-operative sector and encourage more people to make the co-operative choice. ‘Co-ops Fortnight 2014’ falls right in the middle of what is probably our busiest period this year. Fresh from the success of this year’s ‘Peace In The Park’ Festival last weekend, which saw the biggest crowd ever in attendance; this weekend we will be at the Ruskin Park Fun-day. As part of our offering for the Tour De France Grande Depart we have been working on a 4 month project, The Sheffield Steel Peloton, to produce a film about making a bike from a bit of Sheffield. We will be showing this off at this weekend’s Cliffhanger Festival in Millhouses park as well as from the city centre cavelcade.
Meanwhile back at Regather works our commercial kitchen is getting busier too… We now have regular users such as Savvy Spreads (who batch prepared their healthy spreads in our kitchen) and IBK who use our kitchen and canteen most Friday’s to prepare food and eat with young people with learning difficulties) and a new project starting from next week called the ‘Open Kitchen Social Club’ which will be working with asylum seekers and refugees every Monday. After the success of the launch (as part of National Vegetarian Week last month) we are delighted to announce the return of the ‘Eating Seasonally – Veggie Supper‘ and Chef Komal Khan on Thursday 31st July.
Despite being busy with all this we have managed to find to time to put together an offer just for Co-ops Fortnight 2014. Basically customers making enquiries for Regather goods or services during Co-ops fortnight get a 10% discount by quoting #coops14 when they book.. This offer applies to our wonderful weekly veg box and/or facilities hire of Regather spaces (e.g our kitchen or studio) or equipment (e.g. marquees, catering equipment etc) Over the next few weeks you can also find us at Nether Edge Farmers Market and once again we will be taking over a large part of Endcliffe Park to bring you the ‘Folk Forest’ as part of Tramlines Festival in July.
