The Regather kitchen has been getting lots of use lately. We are delighted to welcome new regulars ‘Miss Adu’s Kitchen’ – baking wonderful gluten free and dairy free cakes and biscuits which you can find at the Devonshire Market this Saturday (27th Sept 2014). Plus we have the ‘I Heart Bikkies‘ crew in baking their delicious grown-up cookies which were on sale for the first time in the Pop-Up Pantry in the Moor Market a couple of weekends ago.
In addition to the above we also have the OK Social club in every Monday from midday til 4pm providing food, support, and a place to meet for destitute asylum seekers, refugees, those in need in the wider community. Food is provided free of charge to those with no source of income and on a voluntary donations basis to anyone else. Any funds raised in donation go towards future weekly events. This event is hosted by Outside Film with support from Sheffield Refugee Asylum Seeker Action Group and funded by the Big Lottery – Awards For All. Last Sunday we had our first table tennis tournament here at Regather Works (thanks to Rich the kind donor of the table). The event, organised by volunteer Liam, was held in aid of Challenges Worldwide. We hope to schedule some more table tennis sessions very soon.
